Gas line explosion kills one utility worker

Police are investigating a gas line explosion in Columbia Falls, Montana that killed a utility worker.

The blast occurred May 6, when Four NorthWestern Energy workers were responding to reports of a gas leak when the residential home exploded. One of the workers was killed in the blast and another one suffered non-life threatening injuries. The blast was very powerful and the home was leveled because of it.

Houses were being evacuated hours after the exploison and it took fire officials two hours to get the fire under control.

Gas explosions are very dangerous and cause extreme heartache for the friends and family members of people injured in fires. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of all involved in this fatal accident.
