Posted on May 24th, 2010 No Comments

Two contract workers were killed after being injured in an explosion at an Army base in Alabama. The workers were removing propellant from rockets at  Redstone Arsenal, where the army conducts missile research.

The two workers died in the hospital the night after the explosion from injuries suffered. There has been no information released on the cause of the explosion but officials say that the building recently passed safety inspections and was specifically designed to minimize the possibility of explosions.

Part of the building was destroyed in the explosion and one other worker who was nearby managed to escape from harm.

Workplace explosions can be dangerous and change the lives of all involved. Our thoughts are with the family of the victims.
