Small propane explosion injures man

Posted on June 23rd, 2010 No Comments

The fire marshall department is currently investigating a small propane fire that injured one man with second-degree burns.

Two men had collected propane tanks and were cutting them for scrap metal. They had released the valves on the tanks and they thought that the tanks were completely empty when they began cutting them with a gas-powered saw.

A spark then hit the residential fuel and cause a flash fire. The tank was still burning when fire crews arrived. One of the men was sent to the hospital, but his current condition is unknown.

Propane explosions can seriously injure all involved, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.
