Propane fire causes neighborhood evacuation

Last week, a propane explosion that began a fire caused a Philadelphia neighborhood to be evacuated.

According to fire officials, the accident began at Scully Welding Supply Co. when an employee dropped a propane tank causing it an other small propane tanks to explode.

Fire crews arrived at the scene and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the two large propane tanks. It took nearly three hours to get the fire under control and residents were to remain out of their homes from nearly six hours.
